Effing charging issues, 3 car batteries, 16 hours on the road for what should have been an 8 hour round trip, no brake lights, the dash has been chopped up for a lousy radio, the button for the hatch doesn't open it (he said it just needs the contacts cleaned though) the long tube headers and whole exhaust system hangs ungodly low,
BUT SHE'S MINE!!!

Australian accent: She's the last of the V8s, sucks nitro, twin overhead cam, phase four heads..... (Ignore if you haven't seen Mad Max)
Here are some pictures

And the fleet, the cheese curl orange Datsun is the car my friend drove me up there in, and saved me on several occasions

I'm :censored: that he cut the dash, you know how hard it's going to be to find a new dash piece so I can put in the original AM/FM/CB??

I think Luna is a good name, short for Lunatic.
I also think I'd like to see her with the factory decal kit, but in a deeeeep darker blue

Wow way cool!

Congrats!

Those peices where the radio goes are hard to find  with the silver inlay still intact and indecent shape, but finding one with the woodgrain is not so hard, I peeled the woodgrain part off, cleaned off the the glue and painted it flat black there, matches pretty good till I find the elusive replacement

Is it a 4 speed?

Beautiful! The rear hatch solenoids rarely work correctly. They get positive 12V from a brass pin pretty reliably, but they do not get a good ground. They ground to the hatch which in turn does not ground to the body. A larger grey stud is supposed to provide the ground to the hatch.

I highly suggest the same two modifications I do to all of mine:

1) Put a ground wire from the body to the rear hatch adjacent to the rear defogger if you have one. There is a notch in the trim for the rear defogger wire to ground to the body, I use that notch and ground screw to add my hatch ground.

I actually measured across the solenoid before and after adding that ground wire. The voltmeter reported 12V after this addition and only 4 volts before it, which explains the lazy solenoid action

2) I put a 3M rocker switch available at Walmart into the supplied plastic bezel backwards, then use the existing holes to mount it where the button used to be in the glove box. This sends steady 12V to the solenoid, which would burn it out. It doesn't burn it out because I interrupted the wire and put a doorbell switch above the passenger side taillight. I can now open the hatch from the rear of the car and I only hit the glove box switch to lock the hatch, not to open it.

Love it. Also cheese curl orange is a great description of the color on that Datsun.

When did? But it's...How? (゚д゚)

That ride height can't be right. The AMX is lower than the Eagle?

The color and style are right and I love the dash. I don't like the spoiler on black though. I'd rather see a bright orange skid plate or something.

I put an AMX style dash in my Eagle and had the same problem with the radio/heater control bezel not being in very good shape.  I carefully peeled away the black overlay from an Eagle bezel and used that as an outline to cut an aluminum one out of roof flashing:

http://forums.amceaglenest.com/index.php?topic=15595.msg312841#msg312841

I made it slightly too wide for the opening so it puckered a bit in the middle when I put it in but once the radio and heater controls were in its not really noticeable.  I have a black radio/heater bezel if you're looking for a replacement, make me an offer.
