Does anyone know who sells wheel spacers that fit our Eagles? I want to space out my Cherokee rims so I can use the center hole cover. Thanks!

I bought a set off the auction site and have been very happy with them.  Send me a personal message and I'll give you the seller's name.

Make sure they are hubcentric!

l have a problem with the rim rubbing on my left front knuckle. I only need to space the rim out a 1/2 inch, but the only spacers I see is 1.5 inch space. Could that knuckle be bent and thats why its rubbing? Its not rubbing on the other side.
I Don't know why. But everybody's always talking about their STI or That guys EVO, I think I'll stick with my old, but reliable AmC. Did I ever tell you I was Full blooded Eagle?

You should be able to find spacers beginning at 1/2".  Mine are 1" spacers.

Maybe the wheel bearings are shot? That will cause the wheel to lean.

Double check the tightness of the axle hub. If the nut was loose, it would lean. If you were sold the wrong inner race, it can sit in too deep and let the rim hit the knuckle too.

The XJ aluminum wire wheel rims hit and do not let the wheel even rotate on the front. I use a 1" spacer in the front and a 2" spacer in the back with those rims.

There is a huge variance in backspacking between various XJ rims. The only other style I use is the ten hole aluminum rims. Those are about 1" different than the wire wheel rims. I don't use a spacer in the front with those and I only use a 1" spacer in the rear with those.

Weird they didn't fit. We bolted a set of XJ alloy wheels (the ones that looked like my wagon's original tires, only wider) to the '83 SX4 we brought back from Southern Oregon yesterday. Finally fell asleep around midnight last night after getting up at 6:30 AM saturday to go to a meeting then finish getting Sarge (my '87 Comanche) ready to go. We temporarily swapped my Eagle's tires to Sarge for a level pull and a bit more power than the 33" tires would've given me since it still has 3.73 gears and not the 4.10s it should have with automatic and those big tires.

Every type of XJ rim is different from the rest in terms of backspacing. It's wierd, but not at all suprising with the knowledge that the advertised wheel width of the XJ changed about 4 or 5 times over the production years, and even the width of the wheel bearings and calipers also changed at least once. You really don't know until you try that style or talk to someone else who has.
