I had one of these motors in a '79 Postal Jeep with 904 auto behind it. I was thinking about using the trans and motor mounts to put a VW or Audi diesel in my '82 Spirit. Wife hated the Postal DJ5-G so much I had to get rid of it (which is weird because her dad was a postman!)
Fun little motor, but I definitely had a hankering to get more power by possibly swapping in a Porsche 924 2.0L with EFI (basically the same motor)
AMC/Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental!
