Theoretically the motor is working hard than. So when you work your motor driving up a hill it should be set right than.

I never do that however.  I timing lght it than advance till it revs high. Than back off a bit. Than put it under load while driving, and back off till no more ping.

There's another method of setting timing that works well.

I got the document, thanks.
So according to this everything is the same, except instead of unplugging and jumpering the SSI retard plug you unplug the 4" and 10" vacuum switches. That's a fairly straightforward change. I'll investigate this tomorrow.
