Hood Insulation
« on: May 13, 2012, 11:51:53 PM »
Does anyone have a recommendation for under the hood insulation? I thought about getting some of the heat barrier stuff with the foil but would rather have an OE look with the black fiberglass stuff. My Eagle had none when i bought it so I need to find a source for it.

I've seen the stuff in the parts house before that looks just like the fiber mat for the carpet, except for it i heat resistant.  I know worst reply ever... it exists though!!

The AMC Hornet hood insulation is still available on the famous auction site.
That should fit, if you remove the chrome trimmings from the Eagle hood, you will find a Hornet hood.

I ordered it last year It comes with the clips. I didn't know that... :banghead:...I ended up ordering the clips separately. But you can only order the clips in boxes of a hundred. LOL  :rotfl: anyone needs these clips contact me  ;D
I Don't know why. But everybody's always talking about their STI or That guys EVO, I think I'll stick with my old, but reliable AmC. Did I ever tell you I was Full blooded Eagle?

I'll throw out a plug for APD. The hood insulation was an exact fit and very good quality. Be sure to wear long sleeved shirt and gloves when dealling with it. I iched like a coon dog after a tick after dealing with the stuff!
