back of the engine

does anyone have pictures of the back of the 258 engine? i took my car to a garage recently to fix a rear main leak paid them $725 to fix it and it still leaks  :banghead:. I'm trying to figure out what else back there could be leaking.

how about your valve cover? mine leaks but mine is plastic too.I wipe it up when I'm changing oil and tinkering,need to replace it though.

Well, ermmmmm , shouldn't they fix it right ?? I mean after $725 spent..........not bieng sarcastic, just would hope they would stand behind thier work.......

A leaky valve cover will leak at the rear too, drips down and sometimes looks like a leaky rear main...

Or they didn't do it and claimed they did (I HATE ripoff shops!) PCV clogged will force oil out too.
AMC/Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental!

Thanks for all the replys. I Hope its the valve cover. I'm going to pull it off tonight and do a thurough cleaning back there so i can see If it is indeed coming from the back of the engine or from the back of the valve cover.
AMC it just works.
