Rear wheel Bearing help

Okay team I need another sanity check. 

I replaced the right rear wheel bearing about 4 years ago.  Since then the car has been driven about 8k miles and the bearing is bad again.  Both times the most significant damage was on the race and the rollers looked good.  This time the inner seal was bad and there was gear oil inside the drum.  I'm thinking this washed out the grease causing the bearing to prematurely wear out.  I know the wheels stick out further on my lifted rig but I would like to think that 8k miles is still way too soon to shred that bearing.  Is there anythign else I should look at before I try this again.

How tight are the outer races in the housing? It looks like they are spinning in the housing, that is of course a BAD thing   :(

I thought it was pretty snug.  I went back outside and tapped it back into the housing and it did require the deadblow hammer to get it into the housing.  I measured the housing and the race with my calipers and I'm going to call it a 0.006" press fit.  The outside of the race doesn't look like it was spinning.

Did you check axle shaft end play when you put the bearings in 4 years ago? Adjustment is by shims, and the shims are on the left side. :eagle:

Looks like severe pitting, but strangely enough only one sided.
Could it be corrosion due to water?

I did check the end play and it was okay then.  It was loose when I took it apart but the bearing was wasted.  I put it all back together and it all felt good.  Im gonna stick with my original theory of seal went bad, washed out the grease and caused premature wear.

Looking at the damage on the race, my guess would be that the bearing was improperly hardened and started to chip out.

I went with a BCA/National bearing this time.  The previous try was an SK setup.  I also noticed the seal was an upgraded double lip design.  I put about 500 miles on it the last couple days and no issues yet.

I think Jurjen is right, to me it looks like the damage in the bearing is caused by moisture/water.
