There is a screw that holds the bulb holder to the package tray.  If you risk breaking your neck and bend your back into a pretzel shape you may be able to see it.  Mine are Phillips head screws.
I'm right 98% of the time, and I don't care about the other 3%.

Memory is returning somewhat - there is a small hole in sort of a pocket at the extreme end of the package tray.  The screw goes in from the package tray side.  You should be able to see the hole in the light holder that the screw goes into.

I'm actually considering getting a few small LED's and using those as footwell lights.  I'm gonna just 'rambler rig' them up - Probably to that bottom tray, or behind it somehow.  I'll take out the old lights, and use those wires.

if you have a radioshack in your srea check them out ...... they have some 1/2 inch panel leds that go flush in a 1/2 hole and are 12 volt.  they are something like 2 bucks for a 2 pack and come clear, red, blue, or green ....... i used to put them under the dash of about every car i owned in my younger days as a sort of "mood lighting"

we do, and that sounds perfect.  I'll check them out.

"Rambler rig up"  I came up with, 'cause "Rambler mentality" didn't flow well with the sentence.
