Title: 1984 TRANSMISSION
Post by: REDLEATHER on September 30, 2005, 10:40:10 AM
I HAVE LOOKED EVERYWHERE FOR A TRANSMISSION FOR MY 1984 EAGLE STATION WAGON. THE CAR ONLY HAS 63,000 ORIGINAL MILES ON IT. I LIVE IN WEST VIRGINIA BUT WOULD BE WILLING TO TRAVEL OR PAY SHIPPING. I JUST KEEP GETTING LAUGHED AT WHEN I ASK PEOPLE IF THEY KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND ONE, AND THE COMMENT GOOD LUCK!!
THANKS
LINDA MCCRACKEN

One in awhile they are on E-bay.  Do you have one that can be rebuilt?  They use common easy to find Chryser parts.  If push comes to shove you can use a AMC 904 until one shows up.

In Corry, PA, about 6 hours or so north, there is a shop called C.A.R.S. His name is Brad and the BIGEST AMC nut Ive ever seen. Also one of my parts suppliers. He has one of every year Gremlin produced, hundereds of AMC. and Rambler cars and thousands of parts. If your interested let me know and Ill pass a phone # to ya.

Might be a 998 probably a 999 which will work too.  Just a tad bit heavier duty.  Same case.

I have an 84 extra, adrian here.
It was going to be saved for mine later in case but you can rebuild it or use as spare rebuilt one. That what I was going to do, had another one just rebuilt. This transmission will not shift to third and reverse has to be clunked in. I will try to get a price fair to you soon if you reply here.

This is a 2005 post and the requester is no longer a member.  So I doubt she is still looking.
