Just got myself an '84 wagon! I got a lot of work ahead of me, but it should be a really fun project with lots of learning opportunities. I hope to be frequenting this site as I get adjusted to the workings of this car and attempt to get it restored to a condition that the machine deserves.
Current condition:
- Originated from Colorado
- Feedback carb
- Still has plastic Valve cover (Previous owner gave me an aluminum kit)
- Still has original distributor (Will absolutely need to do the TFI upgrade)
- Still has several factory hoses
- Starts but runs lean
- Stalls when put into gear (unless given ether or extra gas)
- Several small vacuum leaks
- stuck in 4wd (I'm starting to think a lot of issues are vacuum related)
- Previous owner did some form of de-smogging??? (I think they tried to bypass the egr lines then did some rerouting of the pcv, its really weird and I don't think its working as they intended)
- No major rust damage (That I could find initially, this will probably change)
- 139000 miles
- New-ish 3 speed auto transmission rebuild (Complete with receipts from the shop and the dipstick shows some fabulous forbidden grenadine)
Congrats on the new ride; and having the guts to tackle the car, and to be different in the collector car community! You've come to the right place for help. Please let us know in a year if its still "fun"!! ;D

Haha, thanks!!! I'd say I'm definitely a glutton for punishment, so I could probably still find some fun in the car after time has passed.
Welcome! I'd like to see some pics of the car if possible.
Congrats and have fun with it!!
