Well it certainly has been awhile since I've posted here but that doesn't mean I have halted on my 82 eagle I picked up last October. It's been a long journey but she's almost ready to be a daily driver again.
Had the whole brake system redone with lines, master cylinder, calipers, etc. I got the 258 all dialed in and running great (till the throttle shaft seals gave out). New CV boot installed with new grease, and a new headliner replaced. Swapped out the hideous mustard yellow rims with some 78 Thunderbird turbines with new rubber.
Tried to daily it around town for a couple days till the new fuel pump died on me (gotta love new parts).
Now I'm at the point of doing cosmetics, suspension rebuild, seal replacements, and possibly swapping the carter for a motorcraft 2100.
Never had any major issues thankfully, Especially with a 200k mile 80s car. Just typical work out components that need attention. :)

The Motorcraft carb is well worth it. I highly recommend adding a GM style HEI distributor too.
I was thinking about doing the HEI swap. Sure would be a tad more reliable and cleaner looking than the duraspark setup!
Much cleaner looking and it added a lot of power to my car when I did that and the Motorcraft carb.
Thanks for the update and you're making great progress. I had a Motorcraft carb on one of my Eagles for a few years, it worked great although the diaphragm on the accelerator pump used to go out every couple of years it seemed like. But that was a quick fix.
I also went with the HEI distributor after going through several Duraspark boxes. This is the one I went with, it is a high quality product.
