Title: Tie rods
Post by: 86erfixer on January 31, 2022, 04:09:44 AM
I'm guessing I already know the answer but, has anyone had luck finding inner tie rod ends for the wagons? I e checked Napa, advance, AutoZone, orielley's, rock Auto, even rareparts.com with no luck. I'm about ready to retrofit something.

Well, it would cost a fortune (~$165 for two), but see below...

Hope this helps...

They are also available at Kennedy American for $98 each.  Might check out the other AMC specific vendors.  Good luck!

I saw somewhere that something like a 78 Firebird inner tie rod works, it's just thicker. Can anyone confirm this?

Edit: This is the thread where I saw it

Also if you are willing to taper the knuckle to 9/16th, you could use 70-74 Dodge Challengr tie rods.
