Title: Eagle wagon undercarriage mudflap
Post by: framedoctor on July 08, 2021, 07:15:05 PM
On the underside of my eagle there is a thick rubber like mat, I assume some type of splash guard....does anyone see it as a problem if I remove it. it makes access to general repairs a pain!

Is it near the front of the Eagle?  I don't think I've heard of anything like that.  There is a plastic flap like thing that covers the gas tanks.

yes in front. there is a steel shield mounted under there (factory) and then on the drivers side the flap covers from the radiator to the wheel well. there is also one on the passenger side but it is mounted a little further up and back.

Great grandpa (original owner) was a dirt track racer and modified his own cars for racing so it is possible that he added this to the car.

hi, that flap was/is a factory part. Basically to protect the alternator from water/mud, etc. Removing it will cause no problems. I went the other way. The one on my 84 Sedan was in tatters, so I made a new one. good luck, gz
