Title: Do Eagle wagons have a "Low Fuel" light?
Post by: JONAS78028 on November 09, 2017, 10:41:37 AM
My son is used to driving around until the "Low Fuel" light comes on in his Civic  (yes, I know and I have talked to him about that bad habit).
Well, last night that habit bit him and he ran the Eagle out of gas.  I had him back on the road in 5 minutes but something he said struck me as odd.  He said that as soon as the low fuel light came on, the car sputtered and ran out of gas.
I am going to have to check those dash lights out for my own curiosity because I am doubting the existence of such light.  Anyone know the answer off the top of there head?

I don't know an answer but as I read my first thought was did he see the alternator light come on as the engine died then feel the last little bits of fuel trying to make the engine run since it was still rolling "in gear"?

What Trucker said!    There was no Low Fuel Light option on the Eagles (I just double-checked my AMC parts books to be 100% sure).

The so called 88yr eagles never had that as an option.

Thanks everyone!  The alternator light flicker makes perfect sense... I should have thought of that.  I will pass it on to my son that there is no low fuel light as he thought he observed.
I have 3 teenage drivers with a 4th coming up for a license soon.  I'm not sure where some kids get the idea that you only need to add gas when the low fuel light comes on but I'm going to school all of mine about that.... and their friends.   Oh good lord... I've become "that" dad now, lol.

I feel sorry for every car I drove when I was 19. Hopefully, your child isn't as rough on vehicles as I was.

Hey, its the only world they've ever known lol.  It's like asking them to imagine life without cell phones, they'll just look at you really funny, like "what planet are you from?"
