Also picked up a new differential housing, a rebuild kit, new planetary gear, chain and seals. :occasion14:
Also found a free manual on rebuilding the NP231:

I found a couple of broken snap rings and needed to buy a 28mm socket, so I'm waiting on the delivery of parts. Wife is also complaining about not being able to use the switch on the dash to change into 4wd. So I am finishing the rebuild on the gearbox and am going to either put it in another Eagle, keep it on a shelf, or sell it. I already changed the planetary gear, slip choke eliminator installed, New chain, switched to the same spline output as my t5 transmission, all seals replaced... (ran low on funds planned to get an ax-15).
She saw my plan to put the shifter on the floor. I may do it anyway, but I will wait till I get the Ax-15.
If you want low range and want to keep the dash switch, get an NP229. You will still have to install a shifter for low range, but still uses the same dash switch for 2wd to 4wd operation.
I am going to do a search for a NP229. Thanks for the information.
Do you have any links to the install being done?
