Ok guys I'm curious, before you mess with you stock eagle wiring to your coil, what is the dc voltage on the coil? Set your meter to dc volts and check the yellow and green wire on top of the coil, I am interested what voltage you may have, My wiring is stock and I get around 4volts, what are you getting? I just finished the big cap upgrade and I am experiencing improvements, but I left my resister in because my coil only had 1.4 ohms resistance. I read tons of stuff on this subject but theres so much conflicting information, we need a consensus on what works and what reliable.
Service manual says 6v +/- .5v . If you have 4v that's to low . Manual says to disconnect the capacitor and check voltage again .

Ok with the car not running I have 5.6 volts across the coil, no capacitor. Running I have about 3.5 volts across the coil no capacitor. Yellow wire to ground while runnning I have 10.5 volts, green wire to ground while running I have 7-8 volts, too me the car is running strong. Does this sound correct.
Ok I just read a very interesting post one the amc forum,it basically says that mine is normal, and with the engine running with the resister wire it will be around 4 volts, not running about 6 volts.I guess I'm good.Funny when everyone checks there voltage they must do it with the motor not running, because its the ignition module that drops the voltage with the engine running.
