Anyone have any experience with these guys? I dont need an engine tomorrow, but will be doing it before summer is over, maybe a transmission too. when you do a google shopping search Carmonkey.com fills the frst page at least. Engines are about $1200 with 5 year warranty and transmisisons are about $800 with a one year warranty-- 2 grand total i could do it if I started saving now. I dont really want to get into rebuilding myself so a plug and play unit is whts going to happen. thoughts?
I have never heard of them. They are probably just a jobber who doesn't actually rebuild the engine themselves. I don't see how they can offer a rebuilt engine for $1,200 and offer a 5 year warranty. I personally would prefer to deal with a known reputable rebuilder or local machine shop. However, I have been bit in the rear by a couple local machine shops, one in FL and one in CO, so it's not always a sure thing.
