Title: Leaking Everything From Everywhere
Post by: Jayson_d14 on January 26, 2015, 02:29:42 PM
So, just in the last month my Eagle has sprung about 4 different leaks that I can tell.  Either I never saw them before, or they are indeed new.  If I was to post some pictures of where the fluids are pooling/dripping, could someone help me out with locating probable areas?

A suggestion for help in identifying sources and types of fluid leaking...get a piece of cardboard and place it under the parked car. That will give you what amounts to a clean spot under the car. Color and location of the spots will reveal the source of the leak. :eagle:

Thanks all!  It looks like gear oil from the transfer case (red) and regular 10w-30 from everywhere else.  I'll try and post some pictures here as soon as I can.

Oil leaks can be valve cover , oil pan or rear main seal usually

Before you worry about replacing all those make sure your PVC is operating correctly, and add a vented oil cap. I've had a couple that leaked like crazy until I got the PVC system straightened out, then they dried right up. Too much  air pressure inside the engine will force oil out everywhere.

It's a cheap fix to investigate anyway
