Title: Excited new member
Post by: Seagulls n Eagle on November 16, 2014, 07:40:16 AM
Greetings AMC fans off all types.
I would like to send a thanks out to all who helped me get hear.
I'm excited to be part of this awsome group AMC fans.
My first car was a 1974 Javelin, I had dozens of them back in the day.

I'm starting a new eagle project and will post details shortly.

I have a quick question though. Can you pull the engine and transmission together on a
1984 eagle? How about including the transfer case?

Thanks again to all,
It's great to be here

The short answer: the transfer case must come off.

The long answer: The transfer case won't come up between the frame horns in the engine compartment while it's attached. AMC recommended the transmission and transfer case be removed together before pulling the engine. You won't need to remove as much of the front'end body work if you pull the transmission before you pull the engine. :eagle:

Thanks for the warm greetings. I'm truly excited to be here!
I'm guessing that this is the wrong place to post repair questions so ill move to the shop section, but to clarify, I can pull the engine and transmission as a unit?  What more than the radiator would need to come off the front? Body work was mentioned?
Thanks again. Look for my posts about the engine removal and proper flex plate for the 727.

Thanks again to all, really great to be here!
