Ok I have looked everywhere and have had no success anyone have one or know where to find one. Its not at autozone and not in my chiltons. I found one for a 83 but it is missing some wires!
I found reference to it in my MR manual. It explains the coding but doesn't get specific about which wire goes where. I thought there was a 1988 wiring diagram somewhere but I can't find it.
@amchornet....it may be easier to work through the specific problem rather than pin-out the connector. Like Mernsy I have a picture of the connector but I don't have the pinout. :eagle:
Thanks for responding I will figure it out...no problem other than attaching a jeep 4.0 harness to the eagle plug...lol :banghead:
I have these with wire colors:

May I ask where that came from?
I picked up a manual a bit ago and it included fold-out wiring diagrams on heavy stock.
An excellent resource. Should be saved in the Wiki...maybe.
Here is another not nearly as good and thanks for the info!(http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a228/amchornet/ScannedDocument_zps1a82b81b.jpg) (http://s12.photobucket.com/user/amchornet/media/ScannedDocument_zps1a82b81b.jpg.html)
Oh, and if you want everything to look factory you can find the non-adhesive vinyl tape. The adhesive in electrical tape just becomes a pervasive goo when exposed to heat or oil. Friction cloth tape works too, but that's usually found in older cars. I always liked that AMC was fond of split loom.

Yes...you can pull the wires out of the split loom and put them back in when you're done. It will look like you never got into them. :eagle:
this may help too
