Title: Horn system
Post by: SilentWolf8293 on April 18, 2014, 02:46:17 AM
My horn does not work and if it did I could have saved myself a bit of damage. Does anyone know where the horn relay is located? I can't find the :censored: thing and none of the mechanics around here have a clue. The horn itself is fine. I touched its lead to the battery terminal and nearly had a heart attack when it went off. What wires I CAN see and can follow without taking the whole car apart are completely intact. I'm pretty sure it's the relay I just can't find it.

Mine is a white plastic relay under the dash. You'll hear it click to find it.

The horn relay should be on the inner fender near the starter solenoid.

Maybe I'm confused with the one in my Comanche.

The horn relay should be on the inner fender near the starter solenoid.

It's an ugly metal thing. One power in wire, one power out to the horns, one ground to the button on the column.

If no one is leaning on the horn button, a jumper across two terminals will help you find out if the horns themselves work. Once you find those two, the terminal that is left can be jumped to ground to test the relay.

It looks something like this:
