Title: New member Eagle
Post by: flyamerican on February 24, 2014, 12:41:21 PM
Hi all.  This is my daughter and me in my '85 Eagle sitting in front of the CA state capitol building in 2005 at the national AMCRC meet there.  I wish my car still looked this good today, but it's in need of paint and TLC at this point.  I'm hoping to refresh the 258 and the T-5 transmission this year.  This has been a great car and I hope to be driving it a long, long time.  Alan Golbov, Sparks, NV.

Welcome Alan.  Sounds like you need to start a project thread as you refresh your wagon.

That is a beautiful blue wagon! Don't see them in that color very often. Eggshell, tan, brown, copper. It's nice to see a little color on an Eagle!

Hello Alan, and welcome aboard.

There used to be someone who periodically posted Eagle parts for sale and who lived in or near Fallon. I can't for the life of me remember his screen name, but maybe he's lurking and will post up. He may be a possible source of parts for yours. Maybe someone reading this will remember and post.

Best of luck to you as you work your Eagle back into it's glory. :eagle:

Ditto!  Not a big fan of wagons, but I'm diggin' the color!

Thanks all.  I am finished with the refresh, which stopped most of the leaking, but still have some drips now and then.  This year I also had to replace the heater core and heater control switch (spendy!).  Also changed out the axle boots, which disintegrated within a couple of months, so had to do them again.  Some parts are cheap, but you don't know how many decades they've been on the shelf.  Also installed a MC 2100, ECM Test Bypass and hi-volt coil setup.  Learned a lot!  Am done for the year, I think.

The guy eaglebeekreferred to in Fallon, NV is Mike Lakin, and he does have several earlier Eagle parts cars on his property.  He is the President of our local AMC club, High Desert AMC Car Club, and I am the Veep!  Mike can be reached at [email protected] for those of you looking for parts.
