Title: 1984 choke wiring
Post by: Zoro on January 24, 2014, 01:29:08 PM
Trying to hook my electric choke back up. Where does the choke wire draw power from? Is it tied in with the ignition, or thru the MCU or thru the oil pressure switch?

Oil pressure switch.

Alrighty. I have a wiring issue and I can't use the OP switch.

Where can I get 12V with the ignition on under the hood? The ignition has 5V or 6V unless cranking the engine.

One of the posts on the selenoid will have a key on 12v

That's what I thought but when I put the voltmeter on there it was only showing 6V tops.

I ended up hooking the choke up with a relay and using that post on the solenoid as the trigger. Works great.
