After years of wanting an eagle I finally found and bought a decent low mileage one last October. I replaced numerous parts to get her running and driving good. Just last weekend I finished replacing all of the steering linkages and was set up for a alignment this morning and she should be good for years to come. But yesterday turned into a bad day when I put her in a ditch on an icy mountain road. Every part I just finished replacing on the driver front is trashed along with everything else to do with the suspension. Sheared the front axle off at the housing and bent the rear axle. I'm sure it's fixable and I already have another pair of axles sitting here but I'm not sure I can afford to put that much more money into her. Should I part it our/sell it or repair???
Wow, i'm really sorry to hear about your Eagle getting damaged. Some pictures might help people chime in as to whether to try and save it. If it was in overall good shape to begin with I'd try to find a way to save it. Good luck!
Thats just horrible. As said pics help
I will try and get some pics up once I get it the rest of the way home and the wheels off.
Holy crap! That freaking sucks bro :'(
Sorry to hear, It would make me sick if any of my classic cars were wrecked.
Ok. I finally got her home and looked at a little better. As far as I can tell right now I need to replace both front and rear axles, driver front cv shaft, lower control arm, strut rod, tie rod ends and adjuster, brake line, both driver side rims and possibly ball joints and knuckle. I have most of the parts already. Anybody know where I can get a lower control arm and strut rod?
that sucks dude. also where are you located.
Strut rod might be hard. Whuntmore is/was also looking for one
I'm in northeast Ohio. I'm thinking I can make a strut rod without too much trouble.
It may be a month or so, but if you need something, I'm planning on picking up a parts car that I was gonna see if anyone needed parts from. It was used for mostly cosmetic parts previously. I won't be getting it till I get my eagle, but after I snag the floor gauges, Its pretty much open season for others. ;)
I've got a parts car here and am in the process of fixing my Kammy. I have spare steering linkage. And at some point a set of 2.72 axles.
I have a pair of 3.55 axles I bought right after I bought the car that I never got around to swapping along with all new bushings and cam bolts and a set of ball joints that were ment for the passenger side whenever I got to it. Also have a set of stock steel wheels for a jeep I was planning on using when I got new tires (maybe if I had gotten the new tires for it I wouldn't have ditched it since the ones that are on it are pretty well shot but I was waiting till after I got an alignment). Biggest thing I need is the lower control arm and time to work on her.
I have some NOS lower control arms. I believe they are the left side, but not for sure. They include the riveted in ball joint.

So sorry to hear. Hope you can repair it. Do you have a 5 speed or an OD automatic? 3.55's will be too low with a 3 speed auto if you plan on going on the highway.
I was going to say if your in Colorado I know a place to get some used strut rod or two but with as heavy as they are it would be a bit pricy to ship it that far.

It is a 3 SPD auto but I'm hoping I can stuff a big enough tire under her to make up for the lower gears. Not sure if it'll work but that's the plan.

I have to wait until work picks up and I have the money to put into her but if I haven't come across one locally by then I will be in touch if your willing to sell and ship one.

When I bought her the passenger rear door window was broken and I couldn't find one locally, I had I e shipped from a junkyard in Co. and it was reasonable cost I thought. So when I get to it I may be interested. Thanks
Also I will need the upper control arm. I didn't think it was bent until I compared it to the other side. I'm just hoping the unibody and mounting points for the control arms are not bent.

I just saw this. I'm in Akron. PM me if you want to see my car. Not so much to show it off but to show you what is fixable. There is a post here somewhere of how bad my car was when I wrecked it. A member here actually rebuilt it for me, but basically the whole passenger side of the subframe assembly had to be replaced including the battery box.
Disregard this; I didn't put two and two together. We live close, but were never able to meet up. I'll shoot you a text.
Yes, I will sell one. Check in our parts for sale section. I think I have them listed there and pinned to top of that board.
