Title: Axle lock mod question
Post by: Zoro on December 26, 2013, 05:54:38 PM
Doing the axle lock mod on my Eagle as I type. Looks like the axle actuator was seized something fierce and I had to hammer the shift fork away from the actuator just to get it to move but I can't get it all the way down against the other side of the shift fork housing. There is still 1/4" or maybe 3/8" left between the fork and the end of the housing I pushed it toward.

How far is the fork supposed to be pushed AWAY from the actuator in able to engage the axle and make it work? I have the hose clamp in place but it just doesn't look like it went as far as other folks who did the mod.

Seems to work great.

What about moving the circlip to the other side?

Didn't even think to do it. It's reinstalled and has been working great.

On a side note I've been having a heck of time with the vacuum boots cracking for the 4WD lines. I've gone thru a whole pack in a week and everytime I get a cracked boot I lose my 4WD and the Eagle just SUCKS in 2WD.
