Well it finally happened. I now own a 1985 Eagle wagon. I have always liked these rigs and now I have one (my wife won't drive it until the windows are tinted. Now comes the hard part. This 1985 is in pretty good shape 80k for miles and runs great but it needs a few thing and I am learning they are hard to find. First off things I need
Front seatbelts just the female parts in tan
Rear door handle on the driver side
Rear deck lid hinge on the passenger side
Things I want to do
Remove all emissions stuff (not needed in my area)
New valve cover (never seen a plastic one before)
Lift 1" in front 2"rear to get a little more aggressive tread
This will be my weekend driver toting the kids around and I love it. I have not see one on the road in a while and look forward to making it so others in my town can't say that now :eaglebig:
I look forward to any help and direction.
There are a few people with parts cars on the forum that might be able to help you out. This forum, EVO (forums.amcevolution.com), and theamcforum.com/forum are probably the best places to go for info on your ride and help keeping it on the road. As well as some maybe hard to find parts. Though as always eBay is another great place to keep an eye on. Wish I could say I have something you need but I don't. Maybe someone else will though.
Welcome to the family. Now show us some pics!
Welcome to the Den. Make sure to lube all of the door linkages after you replace the handle. That is the main cause why they break, although the casting was weak to start with.
ive found that the seatbelt buckles were used in some of the amc era jeeps.
Welcome to the Den and congrats on your "new" ride. We love to see pictures of our member's Eagles. Also, where are you located? We try to get our Eagles together for play dates, maybe there is somebody in your area.
Thanks for all the info. I am sure this will be a regular place I visit now. I live in Washington state. I will work on adding a pic of her tomorrow.
Some GM cars of the era used the same belts.
Welcome aboard!
and congrats on your new Eagle!
