Its nice to see on a daily basis, after combing thru the spammer registration attempts, to see new members joining. About two or three every day so that is a good sign we are finally becoming of age.
Good to hear. With the 'Nest' being down more then it's up, I'm actually not surprised.
we've mentioned this board in a few places where AMC'ers hang out too.
I've mentioned Evo on a few boards, before I was aware of this site. I've mentioned it as well now.
It's sooooo freaking awesome to have a choice now, It's... Relaxing. :hello2:
Two great Eagle sites is much better than one pathetic one.
I'm pleased to hear of (and see) more activity here.
I respect those who have worked diligently to set up this site and those who have migrated over here and continued sharing their passion for all things AMC. Thanks to you all :eagle:

Thanks for joining us Brentmo. I'm considered a seasoned vet by now, but I keep learning more with each visit also. It never gets old!
I have never been into the internet or social media but when I started looking for information about my SX/4 I learned really fast how valuable you all are.
I am finally headed home, flying out of Bahrain in the morning. One more stop in Mississippi for about 2 weeks then I will be with my family. I have a lot of projects waiting for me at home to include several on the SX/4. In late February we are taking a road trip to Oregon to pick up "Gold Digger" the "new" 83 Eagle Wagon. And already have a short list of projects on her. So you will be hearing and seeing more of me in the next few months.
Safe travels home. And I can't wait to watch the progress on your cars!

Where in Oregon is Gold Digger? I'm near Bend in central Oregon on the eastern, high dessert side of the Cascades. Have a safe trip home.

I'm young and from this dumb generation and I still don't see the point of facebook and all that. This is defiantly a great place to learn. It also helps that everyone is like close friends here, as apposed to other forums where people laugh at you for one mistake or something. It's a great community to learn.
Monkeyjoe: I just saw Gold Digger in December's Eagle of the Month entries. That is one super clean wagon, looks showroom new. What a find! Would love to see an outdoor picture of that color.
thanks Brentmo, the car has about 46K miles on it, so it is like new. It is sitting in Enterprise, OR. The seller is kind enough to store it for me until I return.
I will take some pics when I load her up and bring her home.
Youngkyle, I agree, I am still proud to say that I have never been on facebook. I have real friends that I talk to every day in person. And soon I hope to meet some of you.
Ditto. Someday I'll make it to a meet, and see the rambler ranch. Facebook is for people who want attention. if you want friends, go outside.
;D
Almost home. Great to hear!
I myself am not a huge fan of facebook even though I do use it but i'm only on there for maybe ten minuets at the most a day and that's just so I can catch up with family members I don't have phone numbers for.
This seems to be the subject for this, but I remember having to be given the all clear before I was allowed to join. obviously a spam stopper, but how does it work? how do you know if someone is real vs fake, and how do you go about it? Seems like it would be awfully time consuming.
Thru years of "profiling" Kyle. We do have bad member software, but the legitimate looking ones do get an extra look. I am pretty good at it now, and Vangremlin has caught on quickly.
watching what does happen, it looks like the majority that apply lately are spammers. both IE and Vangremlin are doing a great job! im sending a few eggs your way
We take new member registrations seriously and it will not take us days or weeks to approve new members, like it was in the latter Nest days.
If I remember correctly it was a matter of 10 minutes or so for me.
That long? I guess we were slipping that day. :-)
haha, I was thinking at most. I'm sure it was quite low. ;D
