I have an 84 Limited Wagon, have had it about 10 years, used to be my daily driver. Overall pretty good shape, interior is leather and OK, ran pretty decent
But about three years ago it went into the shop when I discovered front frame rail rot, was causing noise and alignment issues in the front end, so it went into the shop, and got kinda forgotten......Got a new job, other projects, home remodeling etc, you know how it goes time flies when you are busy
SO here it is now, and here is frame rot places

So, now to coat all that well, install rebuilt engine, upgrade ignition and carb set up, reassemble, try to remember where all the bolts go, re coat the underside, alignment, and new tires and many other things and maybe back on the road sometime this spring I hope!!
Also fixed my seats and all new shocks and some new front end peices, someday (and many dollars) it will be a new car!!
thanks for you intrest
Rob C
So you decided to rebuild the 258?
I think so, the deal on the 4.0 didn't pan out :(
So I'm back to making the engine I have as good as it can be I suppose, I don't really race or rock crawl in this one anyway!
I am going to do the carb and ignition upgrades and ditch all the miles of hoses and wires
There is such a ton of knowledge on this site, it's great to find out how everything worked for everyone else BEFORE I try it myself
I'm just super excited to have the frame fixed finally !
Rob
looking good dude.
That things looking great! Just goes to show frame rail rot doesn't have to be a death sentence for these cars...Its amazing what a good welder can do with these things...Egg's for saving that beautiful old bird!
Your car looks great! Good luck getting it put back together and running.
Just don't lose it in a snowstorm!
A Good Egg to you for saving that beautiful wagon.
Ok, some more progress. Sorry have been slow to keep up on here, been working a lot and when Im not working I've been busy with the Eagle!

Still have to try to remember where a few things go!!! Thank you so much for all the help I have gotten here in the NEST!
Rob
After three and half years, it runs, it drives, its Eagle awesome!!! Got the last few things hooked up Saturday and it started right up!!
TOday I installed the new half shafts and took care of a couple little items here and there
AND WASHED IT!!! (almost 4 years of shop dust)
Good to see her rolling, I forgot how fun it is to drive and how many "looks" she gets!

Awesome looker
White wagons are just absolutely gorgeous!!! I'm in love. I would love to see a picture of that in a wooded scenery with snow on the ground!!
Looks fantastic, Gotta love those white wagons or sedans for that matter. Nice work!
I like it. however. i am like henry ford. any color as long as its black.
It used to be dark brown, had it painted about 4 years ago
Many years ago I saw a frost white eagle wagon and in thought it was one of then nicest looking cars I had ever seen, never could find a white one for sale, so I bought this brown one ten years ago, and then made it look like the one I remembered.
Thanks for the compliments, I have learned so much from all of you and this site, replaced the half shafts today and it was so easy even though I had put it off for years because I thought it was hard. But because of reading all of your posts it was a snap!
Still wanna get some cherokee wheels, but it's good to have it back on the road again for sure
Always rewarding to bring a big project together after a long time, many hours, and lots of effort. Looking good. Congratulations.

It looks great! Nice job!
Love that white on white, beautiful job
Looking good!
:eyepopping: Whoa! that thing is beyond beautiful!....A fine job...or should I say "Egg-cellent" job on bringing that handsome bird back to life!
I realy like your car, The white is great but you also picked a set of rims that really fit the car. They are sporty but not abnoxious and overboard. The attention to detail on your car is great, the engine is amazing.
I am a little OCD so everything i touch gets cleaned and painted. So a normal 1 hour job could take me 6 or 7 hours. I think my Media Blast Cabinet is the best Christmas present i have ever got for myself. Almost everything that will fit in the cabinet gets a good cleaning. It makes me feel half normal when i see other people take care with their work. a little attention to detail goes a long way.
I give you a thumbs up. (egg)

Those are factory AMC Eagle rims. They are more common on later Eagles, like 1987 and 1988.

Oh, I didn't know that, They look really good, especially with the white lettering on the sidewalls
That's his old wheel and tire combo. He has different ones now.

Wow, those look really good too.
beauty
I had to vote for your car as the Eagle of the Month. I really like the whole setup. I will have to live vicariously thru you and your car. My new wagon is nice but due to its clean original condition, I don't want to repaint or make any dramatic changes.
I will be returning home soon so I will be able to see and assess what needs to be done on mine. ie. detail engine and compartment, under carriage, new brakes, flush all fluids, brakes, oil, antifreeze, and transmission.
Looking forward to getting your old rims, they will be a nice upgrade to the steel wheels and plastic hubcaps.
