It seems that I may be missing a part of my fuel/evaporator circuit. It appears that the carb bowl vent is suppose to t-off to the purge line thru a connector of some kind.
There is currently no connection between these two lines on my '85 wagon.
Is this part of the circuit required for proper evaporation, and what is the mysterious connector on the carb bowl line?
The line in question runs between the plastic fitting on the top of the carburetor and the evaporative canister.
The canister is both present, and properly connected. There is another line that connects the purge line to that of the bowl vent. It is missing.
The part I am referring to is a primitive EVAP canister purge valve, which I will need to use since the stock setup is currently nonexistent on her.
I just need to find a suitable part.
Sorry, I was wrong. It appears to be a vapor separator. I will however need a new charcoal canister.
Anyone have a source for these parts?
They are a GM or Ford evap can (I think I've seen them on both) Commonly used in '80's vehicles. As long as the case isn't broken and all the lines are still there, it'll work.
I can easily locate a new evap canister, but the vapor separator is another matter.
I will also need to add a vacuum actuated purge valve to the bowl vent.
