Title: Difference between TSM and MR251?
Post by: trout on July 21, 2012, 02:04:09 PM
Hope to be buying an Eagle soon and a TSM will be one of my first purchases to go with it. I see on this forum they're used interchangeably.

Is MR251 the TSM? I can find plenty of them for sale but nothing specifically for the year I'm thinking about buying.

TIA

The MR251 is basically the 1984-and-up Eagle TSM.  Of course a lot of stuff in the MR251 also applies to the earlier years; but not all of it.   If you are getting an earlier year Eagle, I'd get the particular-year TSM.   1980, '81, '82 are all full fat manuals covering all AMC passenger car models, but the '83 is just a "supplement" to the '82 manual (so if you have a 1983 Eagle, you'd need both the '82 and '83 manuals to be covered).

Only wiring diagram and emission related stuff should be different from early to late models.

Thank you both. I picked up an 88 wagon yesterday and have ordered MR251. :)
