I'm going to look at this tomorrow. It's vastly over-priced, I'm sure, and I'm probably deranged for wanting to trade my good cond. '91 Mercedes 560 SEL for it straight up. But I may do so. that's a bit pricy for an eagle... It needs new headlight adjusters, Looks like a touch of rust above the windshield and (Possibly) at the bottom of the trunk hatch...Mileage is over 100,000...
That's not worth no $6000 dollars, even with the cool rims. Now if there was ZERO rust, under 60,000 miles (or better) and interior perfect (notice they don't show the corner of the driver's seat where it usually cracks/rips) then maybe...

Yeah, the price is probably a bit high...depends on how bad you want an Eagle and if you are willing to trade in your Merc for it! :)
I paid 5500 for mine, but it had 34k miles and the interior is immaculate! Not to mention no rust and completely stock. Headlight adjusters are an easy 8 dollar fix. And you can probably sell those wheels for double what it would cost you to get some nice Cherokee wheels to replace them.
Man those wheels would have to go first thing! Makes it look like a circus wagon,at least to me anyway.Probably better suited on a different type of auto. As for the price I'm sure thats just a stating price.I'd say sit the guy down and tell him now lets get serious and see where it takes you.You can always walk. Did see a couple of spots that are going to need some attention but I've seen some a whole lot worse.
i agree those hideous "rims" if you can call them that, need to go and like eagleman said there are a couple spots that will need some attention but the one thing i'm curiouse about is what does the underside look like because even though it is in Ohio it could have come from somewhere else and thus have a nasty surprise hidding underneath.
That goes to show how much I know about what's cool and what ain't. I thought they were pretty cool, but some of you think they are 'hideous'.

I wish mine was in that condition. these things are starting to build up a little steam in the collectors market. pesonally I think the price seems fair...after all people pay upward of 100 grand for other old cars in that shape that aren't much harder to find than these.
I'm trying to put a face on those rims. Something tells me their off a Chrysler 300, but I could be mistaken, hard to tell with out the center cap. If they are, you could probably get close to a grand out of em judging by other premium stock rims I've been seeing on the net....enough to get some eagle appropriate rims and have a few bucks extra for window tint or something.
The rims aren't so much hideous...they just aren't for an Eagle...if you asked me. They'd look good on something else maybe, but they are just too like bling bling for the woody Eagle.
Also it has like the low profile tires on it that just don't look good. These are off road machines! They need beefier tires if anything! :)

I guess I'm in the minority as I thought the rims look pretty darn good on there. Normally I would never go for a rim like that, but with the body all polished up and with clean, shiny chrome bumpers the rims match well and give it a modern look. I think the tires are the problem as the sidewall is just too short. A slightly taller tire on those rims would fill the wheel well and give it a balanced look.
I've never been a fan of the wood look, but all shined up this Eagle looks pretty darn handsome. Six grand?? Seems awfully high to me. Have to remember that 100k miles was considered a lot for the average car back then.
That rust spot above the windshield and on the hatch back do bother me. Use it as leverage to drive the price down as it will have to be addressed. A quality body shop should be able to repair it and match the paint. Still, a very good looking Eagle. Missing the rear windshield wiper is another leverage point. Not trying to pick it apart, far from it, just suggesting these are items to use for price negotiation. Being a wagon fan, I like it. The power bulge hood and the three spoke steering wheel are nice items.

For the car discussed here, I'd say $6000 is a tad high. I'd try to knock $1000 off of that price. Plus, personally I'd yoink those wheels off and sell them. That would further offset the price.

I am beginning to agree with this as well. Not only is it getting harder to find "the good deals" and it's about time they start getting recognized.
Just recently I went to http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars for :censored: and giggles and entered a couple of my Eagles in just to see.
For my '87 ltd. wagon low retail was $3,825 and high retail was $10,000 :o and for my '81 SX4 low retail was $2,725 and high retail was $6,075. I hate how they don't have a list of options for you to choose from.
I know Nada and KBB are always a little on the high side with their prices, but still.
I think the wagon looks pretty good. It isn't perfect, but it is pretty nice shape. I would be leery of the undercarriage. What are those wheels off of? They look like the stock wheels on the neighbor kid's Chrysler 300. I don't think they are worth much at all, but I definitely think they are not quite right for an Eagle. But then again I have never ever been a fan of low profile tires, except on some sport cars. I guess it comes from growing up where you need a vehicles that can get around in snow. Low profile tires are useless in that department; pulled and dug out too many cars with them to convince me otherwise.
How many miles does your Benz have?
I'm glad to see these cars are starting to get a reputation in the collector market. Maybe in a few years my great condition 86 Eagle limited may be worth way more than the $1300 I paid. But I will never sell this car. :) I don't like those wheels myself. I have never liked over sized wheels on any car. At least that is something that can easily be changed.
Don't expect to recover much by selling the Chrysler wheels! I used to work at an OE wheel distributor and we would buy those by the dozen for $20 each (scrap value) from dealerships who changed them under warranty. The problem was the outer lip which would corrode under the clearcoat. Because the rest of the wheel is plastic chrome clad there is no easy way to repair this, so Chrysler would just replace them. That's probably why the center caps are missing as they would be reused.
