I didn't see a thread for this so I thought I'd ask the question. I'm still using the stock distributor in my Eagle and need to adjust the timing. How do I move the distributor? I know I need to rotate it, but can't locate the bolt that loosens in so I can rotate it.
My engine is covered in crud on that side so I'd like to know what I'm looking for before I clean it so I don't foul something.
I checked the timing just now and it looks like it is at 10 BTDC which should be right for where I am located (770ft above sea level).
The engine runs but stalls out unless I hold my foot on the gas. I am going to adjust the carb a little to bring up the idle speed and I need to wire up a tach to see what the RPM's are at idle. I think the idle should be 650 to 700 rpm?

that is correct idle must be set at 650 rpm in drive position with emergency brake applied + 20 rpm if needed,timing must be 10 degree + 2 degree for higher altitude, for idling problems i suggest to check for vacuum leaks or clogged carb.
Thanks for the picture Mudkicker. Which is the front of the engine? Bottom of pic or top?
I can't see mine very clearly with the vac diaphram on it and all the crud.
