Title: V8 TF727 to 258?

Will the tf727 from a v8 bolt up to the 258?

It's well documented in other threads. Any 4.0, 4.2, 304, 360, or 401 are interchangeable. The only catch is that the V8 flexplate is balanced for that specific displacement. You need to use your original 998 flexplate, which works just fine.

Any AMC pattern 727 will bolt up. Dodge will not. I see there is an '80 Cherokee (full size) 2 dr and a '90 Grand Wagoneer for $500 here in Seattle on CL at the moment.

In a few days I'll have my Eagle out of the shop and take pics of the 727 install, but it's nothing too special.
