I'm probably doing this wrong but I'm trying anyway. This is my toy/hotrod that I don't get to drive yet because of my kids spending all my(?) money for me. So far I've replaced the front seats with some fabricated seat mounts and replaced the stock muffler with a Flowmaster 44 single in dual out. And the wheels are just an attempt to eliminate a vibration when I go over 60. I still need a Gronk carb and TFI and then some frame work and the 5 speed trans is leaking. Then the real money spending can begin. 8)
You are definitely in the right place. Looks like you got yourself a nice little project.
For the vibration, lift up the front and check all the steering components. Ball joints, tie rods, pitman arm, idler arm, steering shock, strut rods, sway bar links, and bushings. It's pretty likely the shock is bad, and a lot of people overlook the idler arm which attaches to the frame.
I don't know if you were planning on having a mechanic do the work, or if you're doing it yourself, but if you have a place to work I would suggest learning to do the work yourself. You'll spend significantly less than a shop will charge, even if you buy all the tools for the job, and the knowledge will come in handy on the side of the road ;)
Definitely get that rust out of the way first if you can. It's always the most intimidating part of an Eagle project. Everything aside, it looks great and I love the SX/4s!
I do almost all my own work and the optional front frame delete is most of the reason I don't get to scare the neighborhood with it on a daily basis, its right where the idler arm is connected. I'm already shopping the parts for a total rubber rebuild as well as tie rods and such.
Looks like lots of fun and frustration to be had, billman~
I love the wheels (same ones I have on my wagon) and your car has the exact same paint scheme as another member's SX/4 who lives in southern PA
Those are the same ones that came on my Pacer, but in much better condition.
those wheels are gonna be up for sale once I get some of these

Aren't those wheels 16 inches? Gonna get creative with your tire sizes?
Yes sir I wanna get creative with the whole thing. I was thinkin of going more towards the street racer thing.
