Me and a few buddies went to M.I.O.B.I. (Make It Or Break It) this past weekend to put our rigs through their paces! It was AMAZING! The Eagle soared through the trails with grace and elegance. That is, until it drank too much water in a mud hole and filled the carb with mud. With a little trail side carb rebuild, with no parts we got it moving along again.
82 Wagon with ignition conversion, NP229, 31X10.5X15, some minor fender trimming and a lincoln locker.

This picture is of a trail called "The Buttcrack"

This picture is us trying to rebuild a carb with no parts or solvents, we got it kinda...
That is a dirty bird! Looks like it was a lot of fun.
First post and you have pictures like this! I hope we get to see more!!
Great shots. Where in southern Iowa was this?
Looks like a blast!
Just outside of Knoxville. We are going down for their Memorial Day event too. I hope to have the Eagle straight axled and lifted and hopefully 35" tires by then. The Memorial Day event is another "open" event. Check out their website for details. www.miobi.org
Stop by peach tree brewing in Knoxville, they make Red Rambler Ale and are members here. Memorial is too soon for me. I just brought my Eagle out of hibernation on Saturday and it has a new engine knock I don't like.
Need a snorkle for that bird? I can help. Looks like a blast!!!!!!!!!!
Great shots. Thanks for sharing. Knoxville, IA isn't that far from me.
It is amazing what one of these cars can do with a low range case, locker, & bigger tires!

That is actually one of the things I was going to get done before Memorial Day... I am also going to put a Holley Projection(EFI) on it. I was just going to build the snorkel out of PVC, run it up the A pillar and attach it to the roof rack. I would be interested in seeing what you have by way of a snorkel!
I will put more pictures up when I get them!
Depends on which carb you are runing. I have the "carb hat" that will sit on the Carter or Motorcraft (TBI too) allowing you to hook up what ever you decide to use for running out and up. Actually on a lot of Jeeps, we run the intake into the cab instead of out and up. Looks clean and unless you flood the inside of the cab you are golden.
I can send pics if you are interested.
I wish I was closer! I would love to go there

I would like to see some pics of your snorkle set ups if you don't mind.

Give us more! Love your dirty pictures ;)
It's a bit of a drive from Cordova, but the two places would make a great weekend trip! One day for the AMC drags and the other for a bit of off roading.

I am running the motorcraft, also come to find out the vent for the float bowl is just a hole in the top plate! I am going to drill out and tap the hole and then put a breather hose on it. When I do this I will post some pictures so people can see what I am talking about, if anyone is not familiar.
