My son bought an 85 Wagon/4.2/5sp /w 88K on it about a month ago. 88k of semi rough miles. So far we have swapped out the AM 15 (stripped hub on driver side) for a 1995 D35 /w 3.54 gears and posi. We went through and replaced most of the vacuum lines yesterday and routed them properly and saw the fuel return line not hooked up. It's federal car and has to pass smog in San Diego. Today the carb is coming off for a rebuild.
A two fold question.
Which one of these is the return line and which is the vent line?

They took the return line off and installed a braided fuel line. How do I make it so it has the return line with the check valve? Is it just the dual outlet filter and one line goes to the return line with a check valve or something more?

Yes, you need a dual outlet filter.
The return is at the circumference of the filter, set that at the top (12 o'clock).
The return line has a check valve, that is open in the direction of filter-return to tank.
Here is a thread with all the info you need:

The larger one is the return line, and the smaller of the two is the vent line.
Yea, found a diagram on Eaglepedia with the rollover valve and figured it out from there. Thanks for the reply though. Here is a picture that is marked up.

Help, simply cannot find the Canister diagrams I used couple of years ago??
I have fuel leaking in a steady drip from my Vacumn Cannister and wondering what the fix is.
Filled tank up for a change and are having a hot day, could gas expansion cause this problem.
Where is that diagram, it was on the site couple years ago??
Any fixes you would recommend.
thanks

Did you check the eaglepedia
Yes, I did check it, maybe it got lost on the change over.
I just clamped off the second line (small one) from the cab side and the drip stopped and car did idle for 5 minutes???
thanks
found this and by kinking it the drip from the cannister stops, but it is the return line with the roll over valve on it but still runs.

What do you think about this solution???
