Title: kajsdf's limited 85 wagon
Post by: kajsdf on November 29, 2011, 10:44:07 PM
spied this in a used car lot on the way to a doctor's appointment in dec. 2010 and knew i had to have it...went back a few days later and picked it up for 1450.

86k miles at time of purchase and as far as i could tell virtually everything was still stock except for a cd player a previous owner installed.  documents found in the glove box indicate that i am most likely the third owner -- even has the folder they give you at the dealership.  this was originally purchased at davis chevrolet-cadillac in gillette, wyoming.  wound up in rapid city, south dakota and registration wasn't renewed for approximately the last 5 years...still has original owner's manual, maintenance schedule, and radio manual, and i found the build order inside the driver's door and under one of the seats and i also found the window sticker with options, mpg etc.  i will scan these documents at some point in the future.

main things i have done so far:
replaced passenger cv shaft
installed aluminum valve cover
replaced all brake drum hardware (shoes, hold down kit, cylinders) + new rear parking cables
replaced all vacuum lines
tfi upgrade
currently replacing timing set
leaky radiator in shop

the future plans:
replace front brakes
mc2150 upgrade
jeep wheels
interior clean up (headliner repair, sun visor repair)
re-do suspension to stock (currently a little saggy)
4.0 head swap (when i have the time and money)

more pictures later on, it's in the garage with everything pulled apart currently...interior is in great shape outside of sagging headliner and busted sun visors -- if anyone has any tan visors they'd like to unload, i'd love to pick them up...leather seats are in fantastic shape, driver's has some wear but it isn't terrible.  back seats look brand new.

anyway

Thanks man. Sometimes I see what other people are getting for much less money and think I over paid...oh well. You seem to have gotten a pretty good score for less than 1.5k.

I'm hopefully going to be doing the Motorcraft 2150 carb install this weekend. I'll try to take a bunch of pics and do a little write up...though GRONKs instructions look quite detailed...almost too much! I think I printed of 60+ pages for the carb install.

better to have too many directions than not enough.

and really the value is what you make of it...i probably still would have paid more if i had to

Prafeston, let me know if you need anything durring the swap.  I'm curently making more Eagle specific instructions and I just did Bucket last weekend.

Kajsdf:  Just let me know friend.  I'm always open to the barter system too. ;D (Right Prafeston)  ;D

Awesome, I was getting a bit of a laugh with all the Jeep talk in the instructions! :)

I've got your number should anything come up during the swap. I think I'll be looking to get it done on Sunday afternoon.

Testing me is the best way to reach me.  I have 3 installs Sunday (2 Jeeps and 1 Eagle) so I'll be out in the shop most of the day covered in 258 secretion...

Nice Eagle!  $1450 isn't bad for a car like that!

I assume you meant texting...in which case you'll be getting all that 258 secretion all over your telephono!  ;)
