Title: Negative camber; +
Post by: hanajack on October 26, 2011, 04:12:05 PM
'84 Wagon:
The car is my main driver and has pulled to the right for a long time.

I could visually see that the left front wheel had a negative camber.  I adjusted the "cam" on the inner lower link to the maximum positive position and still have negative camber on the wheel - but not as bad.  It still pulls to the right.  Not sure what the connection is between negative camber and the pulling, if at all?

I'm wondering what [other] can be done to stop the pulling to the right?

Also, if it affects the pulling, what can be done to the cam adjustment to get it beyond current max?

If your camber is off negatively it will tend to try and force the car in the opposite direction, i.e. if right wheel tilted in too much at top, it will push the car left and vice versa.  If your at full adjustment and still not within specifications, then you might want to check and verify that your ball joints both upper and lower are good, and after that, those 30+ year old rubber bushings in your upper control arms.  Nobody ever changes these, and they are a good way to gain back a smooth ride and good alignment ability.
