.I went to take out the old bird for a ride thats when I noticed the oil spill, it was a mess. Upon closer inspection it looks like all the oil ran out the very bottom of the oil pan, I dont see any other signs of a leak. I think it might be time for a replacement,a trip to the local yard is in order. My question is, can I pull any oil pan from a Jeep ?
No. has to be an eagle pan.
yup, oil pan is eagle specific. Some will tell you that it can be changed by lifting the motor off the mounts, but when i tried that I couldn't get the new pan on and ended up having to pull the engine.

I did that. It will work. However a lot of work.

we tried and tried we couldn't get that last inch to get the new pan to slide up in. we used a bobcat as an engine hoist and we where actually lifting the car trying for that last inch
Make sure where the oil is coming from.
The rear of the valve cover and the rear main seal of the crankshaft are common spots.

I gave the motor an 1"3/4 lift. Than gave myself a liftto the suspensiom. Eventually it wtecked the halfshaft.
thanks guys that will save a weekend, I pull the pan & get better idea of WTF went wrong I'll start searching the boards next weekend for a replacement . KRUD, :banghead:
