hey guy's
is there somebody who can tell me what kind of lock i need for my eagle lmtd tailgate,and how to get it out,i have maneged to open it from the inside ,but i cant see if there is somekind of clip holding the lock down,and is it possible to fix it whitout removing the wippermotor?

There is a clip. That retains it.

thank's guy's for your geply.,i  am going to work on it today,than the only thing to be done is the welding on the floor parts,but that's not a problem and than she is back on the road............

yeah right,turned 51 last year,hahaha....,i did see the clip but never seen that it was fixed with a screw on the outside,take the screw out and the lock came out,i have never seen this kind of clips before,but heck everything seems to be different on an eagle that's why we love them,and sometimes hate them......

Clips are pretty much a standard to retain locks.

I've had mine out. 

You should take out the wiper motor (if you have one) to get easy access to the lock.  Take the wiper off, the large thin nut behind the wiper arm, then inside the tailgate, take off that plastic skirt, then three bolts/screws and the wire connector.

there's a little screw on a metal tab that sticks out close to the edge of the bottom of the tailgate, unscrew that, then pull/wiggle the metal tab straight out.

Your lock will practically fall out now.  Do the reverse to put back together.

I don't know about the little tab on the back of the lock (that works the mechanism) but I believe that those locks are common General Motors locks.
