Last month I brought home a junkyard save 1981 Eagle sedan. It came with keys, but these were probably the next worst thing to not having any. They were so worn out, I don't know how they still worked.
The round one was slightly bent, and also cracked in the middle. I thought it would break in half if not handled carefully. The square one was marginally better.
I remembered George posting about how he had the equipment to produce "as new" keys based on nothing more than pictures of the old ones. So, I sent off a couple of pictures (which I didn't think were very good) and he said "I think I can do it".
Less than two weeks later, I had a pair of keys in the mail. I tried them and they both worked perfectly. ;D
Huge thanks to George!
Awwwww; I'm blushing. Twern't nuthin'..............
Appreciate the kudos (and I'm seriously glad the keys worked).
Yup, George is the man. He helped me with some lock issues.
Eggs to you George, well done you!
What a cool thing you can do with just pictures of a key. It's nice to know this service is out there.
Reminds me of old prison movies where they make keys outta bones and spoons.
Great job!!! Does your PO know about this?
I'm clean, I tell ya!! Can't pin nothin' on me!! ;D
Another Good Egg for good guy George - - -
There was an old-timer at the dealership where I bought my Eagle who could look at the key and make a new one based on how he "read" the cut edge. I stood speechless while he did it :o...amazing!
When I bought my Eagle I thought it was going to be the family car. I had no idea that I would keep it 30 years nor that it would become the classic it is today. I wish I had the foresight to spend some time picking that old-timer's brain.
Well done, George! :eagle:
