I have a broken fender mount antenna that needs replacing. I know this mounting area is right above the front passenger side fender and I'd like to know how to disassemble it. What all needs to come off in order to do this?
I'm working from memory here, but I don't think there is too much dis-assembly involved. I pulled my old antenna off and replaced it with a flexible black rubber one. I think you can reach through with the door open to thread the antenna wire through into the interior. You may have to pull off the plastic inner fender but I don't think so. Good luck!
When you remove the antenna the wire is going to fall into the cavity. As vangremlin said with an aftermarket you can just feed the attached new wire by reaching with the door open. But if you are going to use an oem one then the plastic inner fender has to come off since the oem wire is double male.

This is the case for me. Long ago I modified a stock antenna that doesn't have a good mounting end and just doesn't work as well as it used to. I want to replace it with a new OEM model and that means changing out the original cable. It's nice to finally get stuff working and looking normal again. :occasion14:
