The Concord has not been started or driven in more than a week, and when we came home from vacation, there was a puddle of trans fluid under it. When I was driving it everyday, it did not drip. However, this has happened before, so I doubt it's a new leak. When I had the car in the shop for a few weeks, it was leaking pretty badly, brought it home and started driving it, and no leaks. So it only leaks after the car has not been driven for a while. Any ideas? Thanks.
Torque convertor is unloading. I had that problem on one of mine when it sat. Not sure of the cause however.
Is replacement of the torque converter the only way to fix the problem? Did you replace yours?
Try Lucas transmission additive. It is very thick, so you will need to put it in the sun before squeezing it down the dipstick tube. It works wonders for things like this.
Not sure what fixed it. Other than it is now a manual trans.
Sorry gotta disagree with rollguy. There is no pixie dust in a bottle that ever hides the real problem.
Well I guess I should convert to a manual too, now that I have a reason too. ::)
I have used the Lucas before to stop a different trans leak, that was later fixed, and it did not work. I have to agree mudkicker, there is no magic in a bottle, only band-aide in a bottle.

I have had luck with Lucas products. I guess I would rather try a band-aide, then to keep bleeding!

I agree, its like chicken soup - it can't hurt (other than a few bucks to buy the product).
I thought products advertised to "stop leak" made gaskets swell, which can just cause other problems elsewhere further down the road.
I have used Lucas in my 81 ford and was satisfied with the product, it gave me enough time to save the money to rebuild the trans. That being said you can't pour the stuff in and expect Miracles.
Seeing that this a concord where is it coming out. On an eagle nothing will stop from coming out. On a concord maybe its an easy fix with a gasket.

Why would it be so different from an eagle?
The last I saw it, it looked as if it was coming out of the pan, however, the pan gasket was replaced last November, and I retightened it a few weeks ago. But I don't think it can be the pan gasket as it doesn't ever leak if I drive it everyday, only leaks after sitting a few days.
My eagle leaked at the point where it touched the transfer case. Thats one heck of a big gasket area to secure. Which should nEver have to do anything other than keep moisture out. Meaning if you had no gasket there at all it would never normally leak out. As the fluid never goes in there. A concord is more sealed up.
