Title: transmission full of water...
Post by: redneckjames on August 06, 2011, 09:23:17 PM
so i recently jacked up my eagle, everything went fine except for when i got it stuck the transmission took on a bunch of water.

i flushed it and its good to go now but i dont want it to happen again, so im wondering how it got full?

my best guess is, the pan gasket leaks, or the dipstick because i didnt see a breather,

is there a breather???

if so where????

any help would be appreciated

Yes, there is a vent for the pump. It is behind the torque converter. Jeep guys plug that hole and drill and tap a new hole on top, install a barbed fitting and attach a hose to it and run that high into the engine compartment. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?s=bb9247a4c53b7e0db5cf3a5181c8c9a3&t=586054&page=2

so i did that and put it back in and now the car wont go into gear.. you think theres anything i could have messed up by taking the pump out?
