When I was a kid...in the early 80's "Stompers" were pretty popular. I remember getting this exact sx4 stomper toy in my stocking one christmas....Any of you remember these things....or even better yet still have one (http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc377/shanebo79/fx4_amc_eagle_red1.jpg)
i have two that i know of but i don't think they are eagle ones.
Gil has a few.
There is a website for that stuff.

I don't remember those at all. but I was in my teens in the 80's, so dinky cars weren't on my list of things to do then. Chasing girls was.
I had one of those. Man, they don't make tough little dirt-proof toys like that anymore. I ruined mine playing in the dirt, crushing hotwheels all day. Who knows what happened to it, heck, its probably buried in the yard somewhere. I also had a mini black one that came from a McD's happy meal. Found it recently in an old box of Legos, custom painted bright yellow. I probably painted it when I was ten. Cool find.
Didn't the Stompers have foam tires? I remember having those when I was an 80's child!
Some had foam tires but these kind had hard rubber ones. McDonalds did give them away in happy meals for a while..I still have the little k5 blazer I got with my McNuggets. Im guessing it was like 82 or 83 when they did that.
I had these in grade 6. One of them was an Eagle. I painted all of them camo.
i've got one, and a couple of the smaller ones too.
Did Hot Wheels or Matchbox ever make an Eagle? I used to have tons of those things and I cant ever remember seeing one....I did have a gremlin one though.
I have the whole collection of the little stompers. All of them are in a box down at my Mom's in Tennessee, except for a white Dodge Rampage and a Blue dodge Rampage that are in the basement. If I ever get back to visit my Mom I'll definitely pull the Eagle SX/4 out of the box.
83Eagle! how sure are you that they are at your mothers, how do you think she got the money for her round the world vacation. Didn't you see her on Pawn Stars or whatever the shows name is cashing in on a bunch of stompers.

Nice! She'd have no idea if any of my old toys are worth money or not.
Was going through my parts car yesterday and found one of the small black McD's SX/4 Stompers in one of the parts boxes. Sadly, it is missing its rear wheels and axle, and looks like it spent some time in the bathtub - rusty front axle. Ha, its a parts car, found in a parts car. ;D
Parts car in a parts car. That's funny. I wish they would have done an Eagle Wagon. I'd love to have one sitting on the dash for when I take my Eagle to shows. Sadly I have not had time to go to any shows with the Eagle this season.
I've got 2 one orange and one black. Found it at a thrift shop just after I got Blackhawk. MWAHAHAHA I love that thing. I just wish they had the motorized version of it. ;-; Oh well it's a fun little bugger.
Im trying to recall if matchbox or hot wheels ever did an eagle? I had a ton of those things growing up in the 80's and i dont remember ever having one.
I have 2 of the FSJ ones
I have a black Eagle one. I think it says 500 hp on the side
Is it a hotwheel or matchbox?
I wish they would have done more models of the Eagles. IIRC I have 3 Dodge Rampages (one I got on the 'Nest), 1 or 2 vans, 1-2 Eagle SX/4s and a VW Baja Bug and there is one more, but I don't remember what it is. Not sure when I am going to make it to Tennessee to get them. I have the Rampages here though.
sorry to bring up a ghost topic,,but

i have a non functional stomper and one of the McDonalds eagles someday i'll find or buy a doner stomper for parts
I've got a couple of the McDonald's ones on my cubicle wall at work. People stop by and play with them all the time. i also have a couple of the motorized versions. Looks like they are popuar in this community!
Those must have been before my time.. [or not in Canada]. I don't recognize them at all.
I'm originally from Canada and have 2 Stompers (FSJ style)

and on a side note they were introduced in 1980 <i had them in elementary school> and contiued up thru 2001 in various forms and from various makers and much like our eagles they are considered collecter peices,, and some are rare!

Check this link out, it shows all the McDonalds stompers http://www.route21.com/stompers/etc/mcdonalds/pictures.html
Great link! I think I have all of those too! Most of them at least.
As far as I know, those are the only Eagle toys or models ever commercially produced. I have three of the black McDonalds ones, a lime green one, and two red and black ones. I stalked ebay for years before I got the two red and black SX4s. They are simply awesome.
I dont remember the toyota tercel stomper....that one threw me for a loop. As for toys modeled after Eagles these are the only ones I am aware of too. Im not even sure if they were available as kit model cars. I was into the model car craze pretty heavy back in those days and I dont ever remember seeing one.
Here are a few from my collection. I have been collecting these for a few years. I remember back in the eighties, some bars sanctioned races with the motorized Stompers. They would have obstacle courses set up and race head to head with them.
I traded two Rancho 9000 series shocks for one of those.... Probably not the most savvy business deal I have ever made now that I think about it...
These stompers have slowly been going up in value. Ive seen them on auction sights as high as 20 dollars already. 20 years from now they could be triple that.
i got around 20 each in the two i got,, and thier non runners
Ya know Id forgotten that the store bought ones were battery powered the only ones I have are the McDonald ones that were mechanically wound up.....and while were talkin toy cars I just bought the A-Team van and a Back to the Future DeLorean hot wheels. I dont have the space or time to collect every new hot wheel being introduced but Im trying to buy all the movie theme ones...Im also going to keep them in the box this time, I could not resist the temptation as a kid but now a day I got a bit more will power.
shanebo you have more willpower than i do because the kid in me would demand that i open them and play with them and i would give in. :rotfl:
Thats why I bought 2 of each. One set to keep in the box and the others to play with on my kitchen floor....carelessly leaving them laying around for my wife to step on in the dark >:D .....some things ya just never out grow.
If anyone sees this please message me!
