I noticed a set of the AMC Eagle front hub rebuilding dealership tools cheap on a famous auction site (along with a couple sets of not-so-cheap versions). $17.49 + ~$30 shipping (its heavy). But the seller says he'll ship for $12 if you don't want the big plastic case (flat rate box). Do a search on "MILLER JEEP EAGLE TOOL KIT and you'll find it. I'd grab it; but I already have a set.
Thanks AOH, just bought it, I am sure it will be here before the O rings ordered from the store a month ago!
No response from IE on ship info???
i too need to rebuild a front hub, thanks for the info i was going to make my own tools for this but buying them is much easier. does anyone know the size # for the o-ring? (e.g. -231, -115) if so i can find another source for them ( i hope) LAZ
You can still get the O-rings from MOPAR. Part number J3238141. If you want to mail-order them, I'd go with Lambert Motors (they show some in stock). http://www.lambertauto.net/index.htm I've dealt with them many times, and they are a nice bunch.
I saw your first post right after you posted it. I was going to buy it but didn't see any mention of AMC Eagle in the ad, just Jeep Eagle and thought it may be for an Eagle brand vehicle like a Talon or Vision. Do those part numbers match what is need for an AMC Eagle? Just curious in case one happens to pop up again.
Seller has listed the various tool numbers in the kit, they correspond exactly with the eaglepedia write up on front wheel bearings.
Just ordered O rings from American Parts Depot, 937-678-7249, P/n 982 4001 N, $2.00 ea, shipped immediately, still no response from the nest store!

Darn, I should have grabbed it. There is another one from another seller but they want $50+ which is still probably a good deal.
