well bypassed the heater core replaces the drier . the compresser has stopped growling. and there is a little cool air blowing now , not freezing by any means but cool. any other ideas ??
Thanks
Jim
have you put enough refrigerant in the system?
not sure how much it needs but have put two cans it . That shoud at least get something cool shouldnt it ? Dont want to over fill :) Guess i should add that is two 12 OZ cans sorry !:)
Jim
You didn't add it while it was off, did you?
Nope while it was running and the AC was on . It sucked it out of the can well, just no cold air comming out. Really stinks if its gonna stay this warm .:(
Here in eastern Canada the temperature hasn't hit ninety yet! Come on up!! ;D
I don't know off hand how much refrigerant is needed but 1.5 pounds might be a little light (I only have newer cars to compare to and they norminally take 1.85 pounds to fill) The thing that is needed is how much capacity the A/C system in an eagle has
TSM says 2 pounds.

TSM says 2 pounds.
then the system would need another 8 ounces to be full
Just look in the sight glass on the line. When you see no bubbles its full.
Smitch I haven't been up north in years , I would love to but think the commute might be a killer ! And thanks for the info !
Therevendbill again thanks for the info your a great help !
Casper I have already put 8 OZ of PAG oil in the system It had been sitting for 7 years and needs some TLC but it is coming along nicely ! Thanks for your input :)
Mudkicker never noticed a sight glass on either line . Which one would it be on, High pressure or low ? And again thanks for the input.
Jim
Low pressure so coming out of the condensor. Right near it kind of hiding drivers side.
Thanks mudkicker! but its a little over a hundred out there right now , Think I will wait a bit and check !
