I know the owners manual and TSM both say that the fuel tank capacity on the Kammback and SX/4 is 21 gallons. However, I've never been able to put more than about 17 gallons in mine, including the two times I've run out of gas completely (latest time was last night). I put in a gallon from a can, drove home, and then put in about 16.5 gallons today. My tank was pulled, cleaned, and repaired so I know there isn't a bunch of sludge in it. Anybody else experience a smaller than advertised fuel tank?
Oh, and I'm not blaming the less than accurate fuel gauge for running out of gas. Totally my fault! It happened to be run out right at the corner of a busy intersection last night about 10. There is a gas station on the corner, but I couldn't get the car into it, so I dashed into to buy a gas can. As I was coming out, a police car was pulling up, so I ran over and told him the situation, got my gallon of gas, and was on my way. He was nice enough to sit behind my car with his lights on so nobody bashed into my car. Eggs to him!
On the baby eagles same as my dads hornet. Unless you reinvent the vent you will never fill it.
Meaning you will have dead space
I have managed to get 90 L in the tank of my 85 wagon. Thats 23.775 gallons. After 80 L it needs to be added very slowly since the gas pump handle will click off very easily. This might take 5 minutes for the last 10 L.
