Title: Eagle Transmission Chanage
Post by: ranger on May 24, 2011, 10:57:02 AM
Am in the process of changing out the origional auto trans to the T-5 manual trans that was available in 1981.  Is the trani mount the same for the manual as for the auto?  The same mount lines up and will bolt up the the manual, but appears to be to high.  Cannot get the crossmember to go into place with this trani mount.  Can anyone confirm that a different trani mount is used for the manual trans.

Yes, they are different mounts AND different X member. However there is I think a way to modify the auto trans member to work with the manual trans. I'm gona dig through some of the older threads here and see if I can find it.

Got it , Thanks for the help....Yea, if I cut out the top flange of the auto xmember and allow the trani mount to drop down to the lower flange the clearance should be about right.
