Hey all
Cannot remember when I joined but it's been quite some time. I have tried on several occasions to buy and eagle sx4 but something always comes up. Either something on my end, seller sold it out from under me, but for the most part the cars are dogs or the sellers are not up front.
Anyways I am going away on my honeymoon for 2 weeks and hoping when I get back something cool is up for sale. Guys please post pictures and give information in the classifieds. This is the only forum I have ever been to where people want to sell cars but don't give even the most minimal of information(yes your location is rather important). Me and the Mrs really want something to take off road but so far it's not happening. We may have to get a baja beetle or something.
So if someone has a really sweet SX4 that been setup for doing a bit of trails then by all means list it. I am ready to buy!

With just a few parts I don't have (rear end, transfer case), you could put together a stock SX4 (using the newly painted body + engine, trans, interior from the beat up SX4). I am willing to deal.
Even though I have plans for the frame and diffs, I could be persuaded to sell the whole lot as is, and not do the project I was planning to do.
I can relate all to well, hang in there, remember every nester has their day...
Try to be patient, Something will come along.
It took me over one year to get my first eagle, and it was too damaged to repair (Even though it would drive), and ended up becoming my parts/donor car.
I finally got the second one in Oct and worked on it for about 3 months to get it to pass safety. So, that was from the time I joined the nest, till I brought the car home with a registered plate and insurance, it was 1.5 years.
The donor car cost me $200, and the second car (which drove to the garage with a temp license that day) was free. The guy who gave it to me said "come and get it by tomorrow at 4 pm, or it goes to the wreckers.
Now, it was a long wait, but considering I got two cars that drove home for $200, that was worth the wait.
Welcome to the Nest. Yeah, we have a problem with scanty information. Our regular or long time members know how important it is to provide information, right up front. Its the folks, usually, who join to sell who we have to tease information from. Most of us probably know why that happens -- the word starts with "R" and ends with "t"
I have an 85 eagle sport wagon for sale here if you send me your e-mail address i can send pics listed under apm
my e-mail is

I feel your frustration man! I remember back in the late 80's early 90's, shortly after the buy out, these things were for sale everywhere...you couldnt give one away...now your lucky to find one within 1000 miles thats even close to roadworthy.
Wonder if this guy ever found one...this original thread is pretty old.

Last time he logged on was May 03, the same day he started this thread. ???
Guess that means "Still no eagle" is still the his current status. Some idiot probably talked him into not getting one...like all my friends were trying to do with me! :)
Its likely he just lost interest. Alot of people see these cars and think their cool but lose interest real quick when they start having to maintain and repair it. Eagles are more of a commitment than a hobby.

It's like marriage ;D
I know a lot of people who have been interested in 20+ year old car's, and got out of it pretty quickly for that exact reason.
It can get expensive if you have to pay someone else to fix it.
It is alot like marriage! The only difference is if I split ways with my eagle it doesnt leave with half my stuff. :rotfl:
LOL.. so true.. but I am patient.. and continue looking. Since I traded my 1980 Concord I have felt the loss. There is an Eagle out there waiting to be rescued... and I will be waiting...
:rotfl:
Must be one humdinger of a honeymoon!
There is an Eagle in Penn. and Mass. on the bay...
